Pipamoca portable coffee brewer redesign contest

“Design Your Dream Coffee Maker” contest. Designers were provided with a simplified model of the Wacaco Pipamoka as a blank canvas to innovate and create concepts tailored to outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and cyclists. The competition encouraged bold creativity through practical feature additions, enhanced functionality, refined aesthetics, or ergonomic improvements. With a variety of enticing prizes—including cash awards, free courses, Wacaco coffee makers, and potential brand exposure—this contest presented an exciting opportunity to reimagine a product for adventure lovers.   • Addressed pain points in the original Pipamoka design:

    • Enhanced ease of use with a textured branch-inspired knob for the vacuum mechanism.

    • Introduced a waterproof storage bag for dirty parts during outdoor use.

    • Improved ergonomics by adding a branch-like handle to the cup base for comfortable carrying.

    • Maintained Wacaco’s design language to preserve brand recognition.

    • Delivered high-quality renderings meeting competition specifications (2160x2700 px and 2160x2160 px).

    • Concept highlights meaningful improvements while preserving the product’s original identity.

    • Received positive feedback on the design’s user-focused enhancements.

    • Time Management: Balanced multiple iterations with strict deadlines.
